Activating the Chakras

Thursday, January 22nd, 2009

Find a quiet place to sit and relax. If you have any soft music, you can also put that on in the background. Close your eyes and take 5 deep breaths. Start on the Base Chakra and work your way up to the Crown Chakra and visualise yourself breathing in and out the colour related to each Chakra.

Visualise your energy making contact with everything that is precious to you within your physical environment. Your Home, Your partner, Your pets, friends or close family members, your work and your favorite possessions. Be re charged by everything that you are holding in your mind and feel the gratitude for everything that you have got.

Visualise circuits of energy flowing from your second chakra into the images of everything that you desire to create. Unplug your energy circuits from any negative relationships in your life and seal your second chakra so that no more energy is lost. Focus your attention on the loving relationships in your life and allow love to fill your sacral chakra.

Reflect on what you need to do physically , emotionally and spiritually. What may you need to let go of and what do you need to keep in your life. How will letting go or hanging on effect your healing. Make promises to your spirit. Your spirit needs hope, inspiration, prayer and the energy of forgiveness. Pray to retrieve your spirit from the past and leave behind you places and memories that you should have left behind long ago. Decide now to live in the present at all times.

Pray for divine love and the ability to open your heart to others, and for the compassion to treat yourself with gentleness. Try to take yourself into your own heart. What can you do today that would be enjoyable for yourself. Allow a tranquil feeling of calm penetrate your spirit and physical body. There is always a pathway to yourself. Perhaps it is now time to start doing something for yourself that you have wanted to do for a very long time but postponed. Maybe now it is time to start reading poetry that brings strength and inspiration, take up painting, drawing or sculpting, play a musical instrument or dancing. Or even take a trip somewhere that you have never got around to visiting. Loving yourself and other people will give you the energy that is healing. Take the time now to celebrate with those people you love that you are in their life and they are in yours. Visualise sharing that love with others as well.

Perhaps confess to yourself the troubles that you have caused yourself or others, or the troubles that others have caused you. By admitting to such actions , you empty yourself of the toxins generated by the shadow side of yourself. Strive to make your energy and will clean. Whatever comes into your mind, speak it out and release it.  This Chakra is about any areas of lack of communication in your life.

This chakra represents the abitity to see clearly. We need to believe that our lives are meaningful as we strive to find out what our overall contribution is to the universe. The shadow side to this chakra is self doubt and comparing ourself to others. When we lose sight of our own self worth, we become unbalanced and regard others with hostility, envy and negative judgements. These thoughts can threaten our health and we may get a feeling that we are going nowhere. Try to clear your mind of all these thoughts.

THE CROWN CHAKRA ( PURPLE) However, I find that actually visuallising a pure brilliant white is also very effective for activating this chakra)

This is the centre that connects you to the divine, higher power within. I find that out of all the Chakras , this takes the least ammount of energy to activate as all types of prayer can activate this Chakra. Also think of the new relationship you would now like to have with this higher power, and feel a new sense of faith and trust as things start to unfold in a new and more positive way.

Self Healing

Wednesday, January 21st, 2009

When you begin work on healing, I believe that you must also begin by working to heal your spirit. A healthy spirit is essencial to a healthy body. Understanding your spirit is the key to helping you control your body and what is within. One way to do this is to practice a daily meditation of opening the chakras and visualise them rotating and working. It is also helpful to recognise that a divine force is intrinsic to your every thought and action and that an inner force guides you. Getting to know that higher power within allows you to understand how you co create whatever you experience in your life, including your health.

In my oppinion, the human spirit requires daily nurturing through spiritual practice such as prayer and meditation. These practices nourish the energy system and help to unite your mind, body and spirit. I think that a healthy lifestyle is important in self healing. A healthy lifestyle includes getting enough exercise and the proper nutrition, avoiding toxic substances and maintaining good living habits. A healthy lifestyle can help you learn more about what your body needs for maximum physical performance and a spiritual practice can further your understanding of the path that you are meant to walk.

When an illness has become part of your spiritual journey, your spirit has to begin to make the changes that the illness was designed for you to improve. Medical intervention, complimentary healing, changes in nutrition, and overall lifestyle changes are all very important and to some extent should all be used. However, I dont feel that it should be forgotten that an illness is also a spiritual challenge to be overcome, and your spiritual practice of prayer and meditation can also help to give you the insight that you need.

Your practice can be a means of enduring the illness and healing it through increasing the stregnth and the wisdom of your spirit. I think that it is important to re direct your faith from the physical realm to the spiritual realm. Healing requires you to make changes to both your physical and spiritual ways of life. They are both parellel roads leading to the same goal, and each road needs to be driven along every day.

Self healing can be one of the most extreme challenges, and it often feels that we enter into it completely alone. Others can offer help and support, but only the ill person can acomplish the hardest and deepest work. Being diagnosed with an illness can quite understandably produce massive confusion. Like waking up in a strange country to which you don’t remember travelling , you may feel that you dont know what to do or whom to turn to for help. A closed mind is not an asset. I would say that it is best to be open to every option that can help you. If you decide to go holistic as well, you need to do so after only doing serious research on the full options available. In many cases the best course of action is to combine the best of the medical and the holistic worlds.

The most important thing that you can do for yourself in a crisis situation is to learn how to manage your time. I think that you have to put yourself first and learn when to say no. Ask yourself who are the most important people in your life and are you investing your time and energy in the things that matter most to you for both your healing and living a healthy life. If not, you may need to ask yourself what you are willing to do about it to bring about meaningful change.

Healing is a present time challenge. However, a new step or change does not have to be big to be effective. You could start by taking a walk every day, or take a yoga class ect. Don’t fall prey to the ” I’ll start tommorrow” way of thinking. There is only the now in the healing process. Just as no one can learn to run a marathon in one day, living a healthy life requires you to practice regularly whatever new disciplines that you adopt. I would reccommend to keep your focus in a positive direction and stay committed to that practice.

The tarot reveals imagery and indicates the way that life could travel. It can show a set of choices but we do have free will to determine or change the outcome. The word Tarot comes from a latin word TA RO meaning a wheel. The cards symbolise the circle of life from birth to death.

Tarot packs consist of 78 cards:

22 Major Arcana

56 Minor arcana of which there are 4 different suits.

The Orginal Ryder Waite Deck

The Universal Ryder waite ( I find it a lovely deck)

The Hanson Roberts Tarot ( Fairy tale imagery)

The Cosmic Tarot Deck ( Beautiful illistrations)

The Connolly Tarot Deck

The Morgan Greer Tarot Deck

The Alistair Crowley Tarot Deck

I would reccommend starting with a Rider Waite deck as most modern decks are also based on it and have similar imagary. I started with this pack and then was able to work with many other packs without any problems at all. Lots of New age shops will have a selection of opened packs for you to look at or have a folder of sample cards that you can look through. You can then look for the cards that you are personnally drawn to with imagary which inspires you. Once you have chosen your cards I would reccommend wrapping them in silk or putting them in some kind of wooden box.

I find that there is alot of conflicting advice on shuffling, cuttling and handling. I believe that there is not really any right or wrong procedure. I would say just develop your own way or follow the guide in the handbook supplied with the tarot deck that you choose. However, I do think that it is important to follow the same procedure every time.

You may then like to go on a course which can teach you the tarot, and allow you the chance to practice your skills with others of like mind. Some people also like to practice with family members , friends or relatives as well. I found that the more readings that I did the better I got at it.

If you decide to extend your tarot reading to the public after you have done a course and your tutor has certified that you are ready , the main motive in my view should be the desire to be of serive to humanity and mankind. I feel that it is also very important that you must work in a completely confidential and proffessional way. People may come to you for a reading because they are needing assistance or they are looking for future direction or guidance.

Overall destiny can be difficult to forecast as we all have free will. I don’t believe that there is really a master plan. You may see new opportunities ahead for your client but it will be up to them if they wish to take them or not. When I do tarot readings I do my best to help the client evaluate their own life so that they can realise their best potential. I would also reccommend that you would keep a list of helpline numbers to hand as well, incase a client needs specialist qualified advice in a field that you are not trained for.

I would say that it is best to work from a room in a new age shop or an alternative health centre. The reading room should be quiet, clean and comfortable so that your client can relax.

I always ask if they have had a reading before and explain how i work and what I do. I like to tell the client not not to tell me anything initially so I can give an unbiased assessement in the reading. After the initial reading , i then may ask the client which areas that they would like me to take a closer look at and if they have any specific questions. I feel that it is the Tarot readers responsibility to give a positive, non judgemental and constructive reading as the reader is responsible for what they say. If for example, the client asks: ” What does the tarot indicate about me joining this tennis club” , if it was a negative card and the reader did not have good feelings about this particular club for the client, then there must be an alternative opportunity of say a different club that they could join instead that may be better for them.

I don’t think it is a good idea to encourage anyone to get dependant on a reader. However, I would say, that time for another reading may be when there is a diffferent set of circummstances and different decisons need to be made.
